Couponi Terms of Service
Basic terms governing coupon issuance, receipt, storage, bundle transfer negotiations, and original-store verification.
Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 23, 2026
These Terms govern the conditions under which participating stores issue coupons, members receive them through QR codes or registration codes, and members request bundle transfer negotiations with selected stores.
Article 1. Purpose
The purpose of these Terms is to define the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and conditions of use among the company, members, and stores in connection with Couponi.
Article 2. Definitions
- Service means the coupon registration, storage, participating-store redemption request, transfer negotiation, store-specific discount issuance support, QR verification, and activity-history management functions provided by the company.
- Member means a user registered for the Service who may receive, hold, request a transfer negotiation for, or use coupons.
- Store means a business that has entered into a separate store service agreement with the company and may issue coupons or process bundle transfer negotiation requests.
- Registration Coupon means a coupon issued by a store for distribution to members. A member may add it to their coupon wallet using a QR code or registration code and request its use at a participating store.
- Held Coupon means a coupon currently held by a member or store.
- Bundle Transfer Negotiation means a procedure in which a member selects multiple held coupons, indicates an intention to transfer them to a selected store, and the store may offer a store-specific discount at its own discretion.
- Store-Specific Discount means a discount issued under a specific store's name through a bundle transfer negotiation or the store's own promotion. It may be used only at that store.
- Original Issuing Store means the store that first issued a particular coupon.
- Verification Pending at Issuing Store means the status applied after the original issuing store scans a coupon QR code and before the store marks the coupon as used or cancels verification. Other uses of the coupon are restricted during this period.
- Issuance Limit means an internal management limit the company may set for each store to reduce the risk that excessive unused discount obligations are issued and not honored.
- Operating Security Deposit / Deposit means a security-related management amount that may be agreed between the company and a store when an issuance limit is exceeded or operationally necessary. It is not member coupon money, stored value, exchange value, settlement funds, or prepaid funds.
Article 3. Scope of the Service
- Issuance of registration coupons by stores
- Receipt of coupons by members through QR codes or registration codes
- Storage and viewing of member coupons
- Bundle transfer negotiation requests by members
- Store offers, rejections, and processing of bundle negotiations
- Member acceptance or rejection of store offers
- Issuance and use processing of store-specific discounts
- QR verification at the original issuing store
- Viewing coupon activity history
- Viewing service operation status by administrators
The company provides a system for managing coupon issuance, receipt, storage, transfer negotiations, and usage records. Availability of a coupon, actual provision of a benefit, and restrictions based on a store's business policy remain the responsibility of the relevant store.
Article 4. Functions Not Provided by the Company
The company does not provide the following:
- Cash exchange of coupons
- Conversion of coupons into platform points
- Issuance of coupon money, stored value, prepaid funds, or electronic money
- Management of coupon balances
- Automatic aggregation of coupon amounts
- Valuation or guarantee of coupon value
- Calculation or payment of settlement amounts between stores
- Purchase or sale of coupons
- Issuance of a company-branded integrated coupon functioning as a common payment method
- Issuance of a company-branded prepaid payment instrument
Members and stores may not use the Service as coupon money, points, stored value, prepaid funds, an exchange mechanism, or a common payment method.
Article 5. Membership and Account Management
Members may register according to procedures established by the company. Members must manage their account information accurately and take care to prevent loss caused by account theft, unauthorized use, or loss of a mobile phone.
The company may restrict use of the Service if fraudulent registration, identity theft, false information, or misuse of the Service is identified.
Article 6. Store Application and Approval
A member wishing to use the Service as a store may submit an application according to procedures established by the company.
The company may decide whether to approve an application after reviewing business information, operating status, suitability for the Service, and the ability to comply with operating policies.
An approved store member receives owner permissions and may add employee accounts and assign function-specific permissions where necessary.
The company may set store-specific issuance limits and maximum amounts per coupon based on business category, operating status, customer complaints, issuance scale, and operational reliability. Security-deposit standards may be set separately when a limit is exceeded or operationally necessary.
Article 7. Issuing Registration Coupons
A store may issue registration coupons according to its business policy. A coupon may include the issuing store, coupon name, benefit, validity period, registration code, or QR information.
The store is responsible for the content, validity period, conditions, restrictions, and actual provision of benefits for coupons it issues.
Issuance may be restricted by the system if the store attempts to exceed its issuance limit or maximum amount per coupon.
The company displays and manages coupon information entered by the store but does not guarantee the coupon's economic value or availability.
Article 8. Receiving and Holding Coupons
A member may receive a coupon through a QR code or registration code provided by a store.
A received coupon is stored in the member's coupon wallet. The member may use it directly at the original issuing store or request a bundle transfer negotiation with a selected store.
A coupon already marked as used by the original issuing store, expired, pending verification, or transferred cannot be used again for transfer negotiations or redemption attempts.
Article 9. Bundle Transfer Negotiations
A member may select multiple held coupons and request a bundle transfer negotiation with a specific store.
The member may enter a desired discount amount, but it is only a requested condition and not a value calculated or aggregated by the company.
The store may review the selected coupons and, at its own discretion, offer a store-specific discount or reject the request.
The transfer is completed only when the member accepts the store's offer. Once completed, the selected coupons move to the store's coupon holdings, and the member receives a store-specific discount usable only at that store.
Article 10. Store-Specific Discounts
A store-specific discount may be used only at the issuing store.
It cannot be used at another store or converted into cash, points, coupon money, or another payment instrument.
Conditions of use, validity period, minimum purchase amount, and whether multiple discounts may be combined are determined by the issuing store's policy.
Article 11. Verification at the Original Issuing Store
In principle, a held coupon may be used after QR verification at the original issuing store.
When the store scans the coupon QR code, the coupon enters the “Verification Pending at Issuing Store” status, which restricts other transfers, negotiations, or usage attempts.
If the benefit was actually provided, the original issuing store must mark the coupon as used. If the coupon was not used, the store must cancel verification and release the lock.
Article 12. Store Employee Permissions
A store owner may register employees and assign function-specific permissions. Permissions may include coupon verification, coupon issuance, discount use processing, and viewing statistics.
Actions performed by an employee within assigned permissions are considered actions of the store, and the store is responsible for managing employee use and the resulting actions.
Article 13. Prohibited Conduct
- Issuing or registering false coupons
- Attempting to reuse a coupon that has already been used
- Receiving or using coupons through another person's account
- Unauthorized copying, distribution, or sale of coupon QR codes or registration codes
- Demanding conversion of coupons into cash, points, gift certificates, coupon money, or similar value
- Purchasing, selling, or exchanging coupons through the platform, or demanding settlement from the company
- Using coupons as a common payment method usable at multiple stores
- Exploiting system errors to receive or use coupons more than once
- Infringing the rights of the company, members, stores, or third parties
- Any other conduct contrary to company operating policy
If prohibited conduct is identified, the company may take necessary measures, including restricting coupon use, account access, or store access, preserving activity history, or reporting the matter to relevant authorities.
Article 14. Company's Role and Limitation of Liability
The company provides a platform that manages coupon issuance, registration, storage, transfer negotiations, QR verification, and activity history.
The company does not determine bundle negotiation conditions between members and stores and does not calculate or guarantee the monetary value of coupons.
The amount and conditions of a store-specific discount are based on the independent business judgment of the issuing store.
To maintain service stability and protect members, the company may set issuance limits and maximum amounts per coupon and may establish security-deposit standards when limits are exceeded or operationally necessary. This does not mean that the company guarantees the monetary value of coupons or assumes a refund or settlement obligation to members.
Unless caused by the company's intent or gross negligence, the company is not responsible for loss resulting from a store's suspension or closure, changes in business policy, refusal to accept a coupon, expiration, member input errors, or misuse.
Article 15. Responsibilities of Members and Stores
Before requesting a bundle transfer negotiation, a member must review the selected coupons, target store, and requested conditions. Once the member accepts a store offer and the transfer is completed, ownership of the selected coupons changes to the store, and the member may not reclaim the right to use those coupons.
A store is responsible for the content, conditions, validity period, and availability of coupons and store-specific discounts it issues. After scanning an original-store coupon QR code, the store must accurately mark it as used or cancel verification according to whether the benefit was actually provided.
Article 16. Recording and Retention of Activity History
The company may record important activity history to operate the Service reliably, prevent disputes and misuse, and support customers.
Recorded activity may include coupon receipt, transfer negotiation requests, store offers, member acceptance or rejection, coupon transfers, discount issuance, QR scans, completed use, verification cancellations, and employee permission changes.
Article 17. Service Restrictions and Dispute Handling
The company may restrict use of the Service in cases involving false information, coupon misuse, duplicate-use attempts, unauthorized use of another person's account or QR code, repeated processing errors, violations of these Terms or operating policies, or a risk of violating applicable law.
If a dispute arises between a member and store regarding coupon use, a transfer negotiation, or provision of a discount, the company may assist in confirming facts based on activity history recorded in the system.
However, the company does not assume direct compensation liability for transaction conditions between members and stores, whether a discount is provided, or whether the actual benefit is fulfilled.
Article 18. Changes to the Terms
The company may amend these Terms according to applicable law, service policy, or operational necessity. The effective date and details of changes will be announced through the service screen or notices.
